PACKAGING

MAILER

MAILER COMPOST INSTRUCTIONS

Certifications: Austria TUV, home and Industrial, Austrailian bioplastics, 7P1511

-Our supplier is currently pursuing additional certifications, which will be reflected on our bags soon!

PERSONAL

  1. Remove Any Non-Compostable Components, such as stickers or labels.

  2. Shred or Tear into Smaller Pieces: To speed up decomposition, tear or shred the mailer into smaller pieces. This increases the surface area exposed to microbes, allowing for quicker breakdown.

  3. Layer in Compost Bin or Pile: Place the shredded mailer pieces in your compost bin or pile. Layer them with other compostable materials like food scraps, yard waste, or paper.

  4. Monitor moisture and temperature

  5. Wait for Completion: Depending on conditions and the composition of the mailer, composting may take a few weeks to several months. Continue to maintain the compost pile until the mailer has fully decomposed.

  6. Use Compost: Once the mailer has broken down into rich, dark compost, it can be used to enrich soil in gardens, flower beds, or potted plants.

COMMUNITY

  1. Many cities offer community composting programs where residents can drop off food scraps and other compostable materials at designated locations. Check if your city has such a program and participate if available.

  2. Utilize Municipal Services: Some cities provide curbside composting pickup services alongside regular trash and recycling collection. Take advantage of these services if availalable
